Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance

Employees and their families, including their domestic partners, are eligible for comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage plans.

Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance

Paid benefit provides 2 times an employee’s base in both life and AD&D insurance, up to a designated maximum.

Short-term and Long-term Disability Insurance

Short-term and long-term disability insurance policies provide income protection in the event an employee becomes disabled.

Business Travel Accident Insurance

A comprehensive business travel accident insurance policy is provided to employees who travel on company business.

Financial/Savings Benefits

401(k) Savings Plan

Our 401(k) Savings Plan can help employees responsibly plan for their future. Santen will make a 100% matching contribution for up to the first 5% of employees’ base salary.

Health & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts

This voluntary program enables employees to lower their taxable income by setting aside pretax dollars to pay for eligible medical and child care expenses not covered by our health benefit plans.

Paid Time Off


Employees are encouraged to take time off to rest, relax, and pursue personal interests. With this in mind, employees are provided a vacation benefit based on position and continuous length of service to the company.

Sick Time

Paid sick time is available to all employees for absences due to illness, injury, or medical appointments. Full-time employees are granted 12 8-hour sick days per full calendar year.

Paid Holidays

The company provides 10 paid holidays for eligible employees throughout the calendar year.

Volunteer Hours—Santen’s Corporate Giving Program

In furthering Santen’s commitment to the community, our Corporate Giving Program encourages employees to volunteer up to 16 hours of paid time off for an eligible cause. Employees may also request a company-match donation up to a designated maximum.

EAP offers round-the-clock assistance to all employees and their family members for discussing daily stresses related to work, home, or family.

Total Rewards Philosophy

At Santen, we firmly believe employees should be paid competitively and rightly rewarded for their performance. We conduct an objective-setting meeting at the start of each fiscal year, followed by twice-annual performance evaluations to discuss progress toward these goals. Through thoughtful assessment, employee performance is rewarded through base, bonus, and recognition mechanisms.
